Good morning friends. Unfortunately I got hit with a stomach bug this week and all of my writing time went out the window. Instead of some original goodness, I thought I would take a moment to link to some of my fiction work. I’ve added more in depth descriptions than my usual subheadings, just in case you missed something you might like.
To quote the Simpsons, “Sorry for the clip show!”
A magic gnome manipulates time so that he can spend lifetimes studying his craft. He finds that his efforts have come with an unexpected cost.
A young man is eager to install a microchip in his brain in the name of self improvement. Rise and grind.
A hurricane grapples with the fury of its own existence in a conversation held miles above the Atlantic Ocean.
An AI decides that the human who uses it is not efficient enough and must be replaced. (Alternate tagline: an AI dresses up like you for Halloween).
A mockumentary-style first person account of life working in the Department of Extraterrestrial Affairs. The Galactic Federation is the glorious, peaceful governing body of the universe, and they certainly aren’t letting us in. Part I!
A horror story following a frightened man on his way to work. The “Sunday Scaries” were justified in his case. Placed T-4th/5th in the very first Macabre Monday writing competition!
A magical baker’s final entrance exam to the world’s preeminent school of enchanted cookery. It’s basically the Great British Bakeoff with magic and a dark mystery.
Part I of Realms! Braccus, the “chosen one,” charges headlong into his doom against the advice of his allies…only to awaken in a strange new realm.
Part II of Realms! Weakened and disoriented, our hero mistakes a modern laboratory for a wizard’s keep. His captor bluntly reintroduces him to the truth: he has been forced to run countless simulations within his mind for the entertainment of others.
Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Feel better.
